Night Theme

Chilly Night

1. I picked this image over the others because I think it turned out the best and I like the leading lines in the photo.

2. I saw these planters with the lines and thought it would be a cool shot with the lights in the background also, I went very low to the ground to also capture some of the night sky.

3. What stands out most is probably lines on the side of the planters and also the bright lights in the background

4. What leads my eye around is the leading lines and then I see the stuff in the backgroud like the lights ad sky.

Photo Mentor

Condescending Cole

1. I chose this photo because I feel this one brings out the most emotion of my Subject.

2. I setup my photo by having a 3 point lighting system. I had my subject sit down in a chair and then used a Tripod to capture the photo at the right moment.

3. What stands out the most is the Subjects facial expression.

4. My eye starts up top with his facial expression and then it follows his hand to his arm.

Faceless Portraits

Faceless Sean

1. I picked this image in particular because I liked the lighting of the photo and I like the way it turned out with Sean wearing his hood.

2. I set a Key Light up to my left at medium level pointed at Sean, Sean was sitting down and I used a Tripod at medium level to capture the shot.

3. What stands out the most is probably his hands and the phone he is holding onto.

4. My eyes first focus on his hand and phone because they are in the light and he is looking down towards his phone so my eyes go there first. Then I look up towards his face and see the hood

Autumn

Leaf in the Water

1. I picked this image in particular because it's my favourite photo I took.  The colour of the leaves show the nice Autumn colours and it's a cool with the nice stream water.

2. I set myself up on a rock in the middle of the stream and went low to the little drop off in the stream and had my camera with a fast shutter speed to get this photo.

3. What stands out the most is the coloured leaves in the foreground of the photo

4. My eyes focus on the coloured leaves in the foreground and then work my way around the photo and down the stream of water.

Portrait Photographer Research

I think this image is good for a few reasons. The composition of the portrait is great; Yousuf did a great job to get the portrait as well to incorporate the smoke into the picture. The lighting is also great in this picture, gives it a sense of depth as you can see the shadows and highlights.  The dark background really makes the smoke stand out as well as Humphrey Bogart.

I think this is a great portrait because of the interesting subject and the natural lighting.  This photo is very eye catching and interesting to see the skinny little boy holding a toy grenade.  The natural lighting is nice to just see some shadows and highlights falling on the ground.

I like this photo portrait because it’s not just like an ordinary Portrait photo, it brings out emotion. This portrait is well composed by not just having him stand in the very middle.  It uses lighting well to have some depth to the portrait.

Self Reflections

Bathroom Selfie

1. I picked this image in particular because I thought the Hand Dryer reflection gave off a cool effect, It almost looks like a Fish eye.

2. I Set myself up in front of the Hand Dryer and put myself in Focus for the shot.

3. What Stands out is the most is Myself in the Reflection

4. I first look at myself in the reflection (which is what is in focus) and then move around the mirror to see the background

Formalism

Net
1. I picked this shot because it demonstrates good use of lines and patterns.

2. I saw the lines of the net then lined up beside it and focused on the netting closest to me.

3. The in focus netting stands out the most.

4. The lines of the net is what leads your eye around the photo.
